Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems Sector organization is seeking applicants for a Systems Engineer Requirements Lead position. This position will be located in Colorado Springs CO.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing direction and oversight for the Systems Engineering requirements management activities, in addition to performing many of the day-to-day requirements management tasks

  • Flow-down technical tasking / priorities of Program Management and Chief Engineer

  • Establishing milestones and monitoring adherence to master plans and schedules, identifying program risks and obtain solutions to include allocation of resources

  • Leading requirements development and functional allocation to hardware, software, operator and other segments and components of the system

  • Defining program-specific DOORS schema, processes and procedures

  • Training less experienced personnel on the use of program-specific DOORS schema, processes and procedures

  • Requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower level subsystems and components

  • Maintaining system and component baselines in a requirement management system

  • Defining the relationships between internal and external components

  • Communicating the desired component relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users

  • Generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications and technical documentation, and participating in system requirements reviews.

  • Reviewing system engineering documentation to ensure specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete

  • Supporting the system modeling needed to define system interfaces, requirements and behaviors and providing support to system design

  • Participating in the development of trade studies to support the selection preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery

  • Supporting the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration testing

  • Providing support to the test team development and conduct of formal testing

  • Participating in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor is appropriate

  • Participating in project technical risk analysis and mitigation

MSCOMSTR

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline with 5 years of systems engineering experience; or 3 years experience with a Masters degree in same discipline

  • Active Secret clearance is required for this position

  • Experience in defining DOORS schema, processes and procedures

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

There is no relocation for this position. This position is contingent based on award and/or funding.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with MBSE/SysML modeling tools (such as PTC Integrity Modeler)

  • Familiarity with DOORS Digital Model synchronization tools

  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodology

  • Experience leading requirements management activities through all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle

  • Familiarity with ground-based radars such as Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS) and/or Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry (PAVE) Phased Array Warning System (PAWS) (BPP) Senior Systems Analyst (SA).

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment

  • Self-starter - efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks

  • Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
