HII-Camber is currently seeking a qualified person to fill the role of Airspace and Air Traffic Control (ATC) Support at Shaw, AFB, SC . This position is contingent upon contract award.
The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide advice and high-level analytical assistance to support the USAFCENT ATC, combat airspace, and Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS) organizational mission areas.
Provide expertise in all aspects of airspace management, ATC and ATCALS for USAFCENT to include integration into Host Nation systems as well as management of combat airspace over the area of operations.
Coordinate and review instrument approach procedures development and flight check wherever required in the AOR (including support to USAFCENT exercises). Ensure close coordination between flight inspection aircraft, Host Nation, and AOR base ATCALS personnel to manage successful periodic flight inspections of procedures and ATCALS equipment.
Assist in development and review of documents and publications, including Airspace Control Procedures, Aeronautical Information Publication, Notices to Airmen, Federal Aviation Administration directives, Letters of Agreement, and operating procedures for use by aircrews from U.S. Services and those of our AOR partners and allies.
Attend conferences and exercises dealing with airspace, ATC and ATCALS in support of USAFCENT/A3. Develop tactics techniques and procedures for air traffic control based on emerging requirements.
Provide pre-deployment indoctrination and familiarization training on AOR airspace, ATC and airfield operations and procedures to approximately 35 deploying personnel in support of AFCENT operations in the AOR on an annual basis.
Provide input to Requirements Approval Documents (RADs) as directed in support of AFCENT operations in the AOR. RAD development includes support of ATC and ATCALS contracting efforts throughout the AOR. Research into country specific authorities will be required to meet Host Nation specific requirements prior to developing RAD inputs.
Track, coordinate and update deployment requirements and provide monthly status updates to AFCENT/A3. Develops, prioritizes, and maintains position tracker to align limited human resources capacity with current AFCENT priority mission sets.
Participate in teleconferences and VTCs with inter-agency, joint, coalition, foreign partners and industry experts regarding airspace, ATC and ATCALS subjects. Produce after action reports to track tasks, inter-agency coordination requirements and development of recommended positions on Airfield Operation issues.
Review current operations, operational plans, USAF instructions, and joint publications with the purpose of collating data and information to inform senior leaders of ongoing theater operations or issues.
Participate in weekly VTC meetings to provide updates and recommended solutions to ATC issues.
Establishes and maintains existing and emerging airfield operations infrastructure and airspace procedures to support the AOR.
Participate and support AFCENT in discussions with industry in the joint development of future warfighting ATC and ATCALS capabilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or at least three years' experience on an FAA or NAF staff or higher level or other service equivalent.
Minimum of three years’ experience working in ATC facilities in mid-level (SNCO or GS equivalent) or higher leadership positions. Have a thorough understanding of the ATC infrastructure to include processes, tactics techniques and procedures (TTPs), related equipment, and related Air Force Instructions.
Minimum of three years’ experience at either USCENTCOM or USAFCENT or FAA facility associated with the USCENTCOM AOR, as well as the ability to translate military operational mission objectives into actionable ATC systems as project management. Additionally, must attend AOC Initial Qualification Training (Airspace Course) within one year of hiring if not already attended, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Theater Air Control System. Cost will be covered by USAFCENT.
Minimum of three years’ airspace integration experience working with FAA Civil, Host Nation International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and military de-confliction methodologies including procedures publication management. Minimum of three years’ experience with FAA and Foreign Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) publication and dissemination methodologies. .
