The program will support the individual’s growth through training, skill development, and networking opportunities. There will also be opportunities to learn, share experiences, and gain insights by collaborating with some of the best minds in the industry. This program gives its participants the ability to choose their assignments from a variety of departments based on their skills, areas of interest, and availability.

Northrop Grumman is seeking System Administrators / Engineers for the PDP. This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in either Aurora, Boulder or Colorado Springs, CO.

Our program has a need for a self-motivated, hardworking System Administrator capable of working on an agile, development program. The individual will be responsible for supporting incremental hardware or software deliveries that could require reconfiguration and continuous restructuring /builds of the current infrastructure as new hardware is procured and baselines received, under the supervision of more senior technical leadership. Opportunities will exist to rotate tasking focus across a variety of different operating systems and platforms, and/or programs, for the purposes of developing breadth of skills. Selected candidates will initially be responsible for: Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources; Evaluating vendor products; Hardware installs and configuration; virtual machine installs and configuration; COTs SW installs; Security Hardening and Patching; Hardware Maintenance; and User Accounts. The ideal candidate will develop solutions to problems, utilizing ingenuity under general direction or oversight. The candidate must understand how their tasks fit within the overall program goals and perform their work accordingly.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Engineering or related Technical Degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) from an accredited institution in a background in line with our MS Strategic Disciplines

  • Knowledge with Windows/Linux System

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

  • Knowledge or ability to learn loading, configuring, and troubleshooting for Linux or Windows operating systems

  • Knowledge or ability to learn virtualization technologies such as Amazon Web Services, VMware vSphere or Oracle PCA

  • Knowledge or ability to learn how to install a variety of applications on Linux/Unix or Windows platforms

  • Knowledge or ability to learn security hardening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scripting experience with bash, Python, Perl, or Windows Powershell

  • Experience working with Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage

  • Familiar with Enterprise automation technologies such as Kickstart, Puppet, Spacewalk, or Ansible
